Sharp pencil
Large slicing knife
Apple corer
Assorted cookie cutter shapes
Toothpicks
Flower stems
Instructions
- Take your watermelon and remove 1/4 inch from one end to create a flat base.
- Draw a line the entire way around the top of the melon marking how tall you want it.
- Take a large knife and slice off the top.
- Take an apple corer and as you can see in the image above create a scallop edge.
- From the piece you removed from the top, take slices of the white rind and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and secure to the outside of the vase using toothpicks.
- Stick flower stems directly into the flesh so that they stay firmly in place.
